This Friday at The Oak and The Ax in Biddeford and Saturday at Radio in Sommervile MA When Particles Collide has the great pleasure of playing with the band Aloud. Hailing from Jamaica Plains MA, Aloud brings an eclectic sound of rock n roll to your ears. The foursome comprised of Henry Beguiristain and Jen de la Osa (sharing the duties of lead vocals, guitar, and keys), and Charles Murphy (bass and backing vocals) and Mike Tucker (drums and percussion) create a unique blend of folk and rock. Don’t let the folk fool you. It’s more in the voice than in the actual music. You can hear the likings of Carole King to Joan Jett when Jen de la Osa steps in front of the microphone. The same can be said when Henry takes the lead, his vocals cutting through and pulling you in with a clearness that is missing in most of the rock n roll you listen to today. Put the two together and add Charles in for tight harmonies most bands can only wish they could pull off! Not to be forgotten is the rhythm section, where the bass and the drums mold together with ease, and make you and your hips start to sway, feet start to stomp, hands begin clapping, and your head starts nodding. This is a band that we are so excited to play with and to experience live. If any of you want to come to Biddeford on Friday it will be well worth the drive! Friday night at The Oak and The Ax in Biddeford. Show starts at 8 pm and the doors open at 7:30. Cover is $5 and well worth it.
