So we have been bad bloggers, but the good news is that we have been very busy and have lots to share with all of you!
We just returned from a week-long tour that took us from Brunswick Maine, to Charlotte North Carolina, Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, Lexington Kentucky, and back to Freeport Maine. We only had one break down in Worcester Massachusetts, but were able to continue thanks to our new friends at Enterprise! We saw a lot of gorgeous country side, met some great bands, heard even better music, sweat a lot, listened to more books on tape (CD), and got back without breaking the band up!
This past weekend we were lucky to be part of the Arootsakoostik festival in New Sweden Maine. It is a long drive from Bangor, but for the first time, we were one of the few bands that traveled the shortest distance! If you have never been I highly suggest watching for it next year and making the journey. There are som great places to stay up there near Canada, and the talent they have each year is amazing. This was our first year performing and our second year attending. We plan on going next year if we aren’t on the road! Here are our good friends Milkman’s Union….
Coming up in just a few short weeks on July 21st is Bangor’s West Market Festival. We (WPC) were asked to help get all the bands together and we are bringing up two of our favorite bands from southern Maine, and two of our favorite bands right here from Bangor. Please join us downtown on the 21st! It’s free! There will be plenty going on with vendors and music and local establishments so there will be something for everyone! Worried Well from Portland, Lit on the Flash from Wells, Temperature of the Sun from Bangor and Rotating Taps from Bangor will be filling the square with their music which is sure to make you want to dance. We will take a look at these bands in the coming days to give you a little background on each of them. Temperature of the Sun and Lit on the Flash are two WPC Presents Alumni, so if you have seen them at one of our shows before, you will know why we asked them back! Here is a link to the Facebook page, go there and like it!
